Effectiveness of Contextualized Learners’ Activity Sheets (Lass) To the Performance of The Kindergarten Pupils

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of contextualized Learners’ Activity Sheets (LASs) on Kindergarten pupils’ Performance. The findings of the study served as a basis of a proposed Improvementimprovement study used the quasi-experimental method of research to use the contextualized learners’ activity sheets in assessing the Performance of the Kindergarten pupils. The results were the basis for an improvement plan. The Researcher utilized universal Sampling in selecting the respondents of the study. The results in the test of difference between the pretest and posttest scores of the Kindergarten pupils. This table reiterated on the cause and effect when an individual utilizes certain interventions to increase/improve or even maintain performances of the learners. Based on the results showcased in table 3, the results of the pretest and post-test scores revealed the minute increased from 2626 to 27.40 which resulted in a computed t value of 1.3332 lesser than the critical value which is equal to 3.668. In connection with the aforementioned data in table 3, it means that there was no significant effect Learners Activity Sheets in increasing the Performance of the Kindergarten pupils thus the hypothesis that there is no significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores before and after the utilization of the validated and contextualized Learners Activity Sheets of the Kindergarten Pupils.
The results in table 3 which focuses on the significant difference in the pretest and posttest scores of the Kindergarten pupils before and after the utilization of the validated Learners activity sheets implied that there were no effect of the contextualized LAS to the Performance of the learners because of the fact that the Department of Education Central Office particularly on the BEA released the centralized Self Learning Modules for Kindergarten which puts emphasize for a certain standard or norms before it will be released and utilized to the field. In this case, maybe this is one of the reasons why even there were no interventions given to the kindergarten pupils they already produced excellent outputs. The standardized modules based on the most essential learning competencies plays a big role in improving the skills or performances of the pupils. Moreover, the utilization of the validated contextualized Learners Activity Sheets is one of the ways or intervention to maintain or improve the skills and Performance of the kindergarten pupils considering that the results particularly in the excellent level from the pretest to the posttest has an increased in terms of the frequency. Therefore, in order to create improvement or maintain the Performance of the learners there should also be policy or guidelines on the utilization of the aforementioned intervention. The teacher should utilized the Learners activity sheets in improving or maintaining the learning performances of the Kindergarten pupils.
