Exploring the Project REIGNS (Research Enhancement towards Intensifying Goals for the Needy Students): Increasing Research Productivity during COVID 19 Pandemic in Canda NHS

ABSTRACT

This study sought to enhance research papers of Grade 12 students on Practical Research 2 in Canda NHS through an integration of Project REIGNS (Research Enhancement towards Intensifying Goals for the Needy Students) which covered from October 2020 – July 2021 with the use of different plaforms such as messenger and email. This qualitative study with narrative method utilized a descriptive-evaluative design with a research population of thirty (13 ABM and 17 HUMMS) served as the respondents.
Findings of the study revealed that 100% of Grade 12 Leadership were not able to make a complete research from the title until recommendation of research. Internet connection and no signal are some of the problems in making research because majority of the students are in the rural areas which almost have no signal of internet on their places; since pandemic, group chat via messenger where the chosen leaders of the group became active and email were some ways of communication for the Practical Research 2 subject. Fortunately, Project REIGNS had a great impact to many including Grade 11 students who will undertake PR 2 were challenged. Budget and almost no internet connection are some of the challenges in exploring the project. Moreover, Grade 12 students produced five (5) research papers with the guidance of subject teacher, won in the District level and reached until Division Level of Quezon Province.
