——This research investigated the categories and frequencies of errors committed by advanced ESL learners in their argumentative compositions. A sample of nine (9) 3rd year English major students from Concepcion Holy Cross College, Inc. was asked to write an argumentative composition. The written compositions were analyzed using error analysis as a method to find the frequency of errors that students make. The results indicated that 11 grammatical errors were found and these were categorized under errors of addition, omission and selection. There was no found error under ordering. These findings held the assumption that advanced ESL learners still manifest errors in their second language writing.
